Snowshoeing, Hour of Code with the Kindergarten, Craft Show.... Busy Friday!
We had fun today conquering the trail! The students were pretending to be "conquistadors", but we were unable to locate any gold! Hard to believe we are already to mid-November! Conferences are next week, and I look forward to seeing everyone and updating you on the progress happening in our classroom. December will go by quickly! Continue to read at home and practice those math facts! We should be having tests in Social Studies and Math when we return from Thanksgiving break. I will keep you posted in plenty of time to study. Enjoy the time off with your families! What a busy week! Lots of hands on lessons and projects! Can't wait to meet with everyone at conference time! Please remember to dress for the weather! I braved the trail today. Had lots of fun and am looking forward to getting the students out there too! The fifth graders helped students vote today using their Chromebooks. We had a great discussion about the privilege of voting and our rights and resoonsibilites. So we made it through October. Thanks to everyone who sent in treats. Our "flash mob" of Thriller didn't work out quite the way we planned, but the kids had fun! Speaking of fun, lots of projects happening now. A Native American project, a lesson for the Kindergarteners on Forces, decimal centers, literature circles... the list goes on. I hope to have lots to share with you at conferences which are coming up soon! I am including some pictures from the Nature Trail. Mr. Lou Carr, a retired teacher and avid geocacher, planted some caches for the kids to find on the trail.Miss Escamilla, Mrs. Wales and myself had fun looking for them and we can't wait to share it with our students! |
